We currently do not have any horses available at our location, however if you are looking for something, we probably know someone who does have a horse available!

After successful chemical fusion surgery for ringbone, Texas has been rehomed with a local family. Happy Trails, Texas!

Please contact us if you are searching for a horse. We can assist you in finding the perfect horse. There are various organizations locally and around the nation that have horses waiting for good homes. To date, all of our horses are in training for special projects to improve their opportunity at a quality life. We do not take in horses and have them sit idle on our property without training and a purpose.

Apache's Shilo: Adopted by Lisa and Dave of Washington. Thanks, guys!

Shilo's new family picked him up in September, 2008. His 120 days of training is complete. His story shows just how much he has overcome in order to partner with humans and be a horse that everyone loves. People nationwide watched his story. We have collectively put over $4,000.00 in training and care into Apache's Shilo to date. Thank you to everyone that was involved in Shilo's care, and to his new owners who have had an interest in Shilo's lineage for decades.

Sable is at her new home!!! Thank you to Jen of Grand Island, NE.

Charlotte has found a home!!! Thank you to Dave and Mark of Hastings, NE.

Horse House Shelter Story from 4/26/08:

The two horses pictured below are currently project horses for The Best Little Horse House in Hastings and are NOT available. The stud colt, "Sammy" needs hernia surgery and castration surgery. We will be taking him for surgery in the upcoming months. He is a coming two year old in June, and was purchased with our private funds at the Loup City auction in April of 2008. He is being worked with here at the shelter for the next two years, until he is ready to begin training under saddle, at which time he will be taken to a professional trainer. He now knows how to lead and accepts a halter, is working on getting comfortable having his feet picked up, loads like a gem, and loves attention. His personality matches the wonderful personality of his mother, Drifter.

Sammy with Sable

Drifter is in continuous training, now back from the person that put some miles on her under saddle. She needs to be taken back to the basics to learn proper foundation work, and then proper finishing work.

Drifter

We were able to bring Drifter and Sammy home with us with a little bit of money, some dedication, and some time to work with them and provide everything they needed. They both require additional funds to be trained, receive vet care, etc. Although Drifter and Sammy's needs are being tended to at this facility and they are not available for adoption, if you are looking for a horse and can provide a good home, consider attending a local auction or visiting a horse shelter or horse rescue in your area to see what is available. You can also contact us because if we do not have the horse that you are looking for, chances are we can find the horse you are looking for through our contacts that operate horse rescue organizations around here. Also, if you are wondering what it takes to care for a horse, we accept volunteers at the shelter and you can learn what it takes on a daily basis so that you can decide if horse ownership is for you. Contact us for more information.
